Optics4Birding.com: Jason Reviews

When I first started birding, my parents got me a pair of Jason 7x35's for Christmas in about the third grade. At that age, they were what I considered top-of-the-line. As I got to know more about binoculars, i realized they weren't so great after all. This past fall, I finally invested in a new pair, Swift Ultralite 8x42's. From my experience, I felt that the Jason's had fairly poor brightness, somewhat cheap construction (almost entirely plastic), and the lenses seemed to be poorly coated. Even with careful cleaning, *spots* appeared on them.
