I've had a pair of Swift Audubon 8.5 X 44's for about 3 years and I
could not be happer with them. Very clear, very bright, nice wide
field. The only drawback is that they are somewhat heavy -- a fair
trade for the low price ($300 - $450 now, I think).

I've had a pair of Swift ultralite 8 x 42 for a year and a half now and
think they are a fabulous value. For less than $200 I got an extremely
lightweight (yet full sized) pair of binoculars which are super bright.
I can't say enough for the optics on these binocs. My husband is even
envious (while he's lugging around his mucho heavy macho binocs). While
they're not waterproof, they've withstood some pretty tough conditions
and will withstand some degree of rough treatment. I might also add, I
use these while wearing glasses and have found them to be quite
comfortable with little distortion or tunnel vision effect. My only
problem is the adjustable eyepiece which has a mind of its own and
constantly needs re-adjustment.
