Carson Optical VX 8x33 Binoculars are a good lightweight option for the beginning birder. They feature phase- and dielectric coated BaK-4 roof prisms and fully multi-coated lenses. All are IPX6/JIS Class 6 waterproof and nitrogen purged. The VX 8x33 has a 372' field of view at 1000 yards.
