Returns and Exchanges


Here at Optics4Birding we stand behind our service and the products that we carry. If you are not totally satisfied with your purchase you can return it to us for a full refund (less shipping charges and a 10% restocking fee) within 7 days after you received the product(s) subject to our Return Conditions and Procedures and Exclusions.

If it has been over 7 days since you have received your product(s), Optics4Birding will honor an exchange for a product of equal or greater value for up to 30 days after you received the product(s). If you select a product of greater value, you will of course be charged for the difference.

Whether for a refund or an exchange, item(s) must be shipped back to us within 7 days after your return order is created. If you are bringing your return to the Optics4Birding storefront rather than shipping it, item(s) must be brought to us within 7 days after your return order is created. Optics4Birding reserves the right to refuse returns that do not meet these deadlines.

Optics4Birding may, at our discretion, extend the time limits for either returns or exchanges. Please call to ask for an extension for unusual circumstances. We do extend the return time for the holidays. Holiday presents must be shipped within three business days after New Year's Day.

Return Conditions and Procedures

No item may be returned without a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number. You must call us to obtain this number. If you return an item without an RMA number, it may be returned to you at your cost. RMA numbers apply only to the item(s) listed on the RMA packing list we email to you. If you need to return other items, please call for a new RMA.

When you call for an RMA, we will email you a page with a return label and a packing list. Please cut this page in half, put the packing list in the box and tape the label to the outside. We ship from multiple locations and returns do not always go to the place from which they were shipped. Using the label we email you will ensure your return goes to the proper place. Returns received without an RMA or returned to the wrong address will be returned to you at your cost and/or assessed a restocking fee of up to 15% at our discretion.

In order to receive a full refund, products must be returned in pristine (as new) condition. This means they must be unopened (any seals or shrink-wrapping must be intact), and contain all materials originally included with the item(s). If any promotional items were sent, they must also be returned. You will be charged for unreturned promotional items at their full standard price. Items not returned in pristine condition may be charged a restocking fee of 15% (or more depending on condition and resalability) of the sale price listed on our web site at the time of the return.

All authorizations are made on specific items. To receive the correct refund, please return only the item(s)authorized. Should you decide to return other items, please call again for another authorization. Items returned without an authorization may be subject to a restocking fee.

Return Shipping Fees

Unless we tell you otherwise, you are responsible for all costs of returning or exchanging your order. Send your return using a carrier such as FedEx, UPS, DHL, or USPS with a signature required, and sufficient insurance to cover yourself in case the returned items are damaged or lost. Either reuse the original packaging, or make sure that you use sufficient padding to prevent damage during transit. We are not responsible for damage to your return once it leaves our doors.

If your package arrives in less than perfect condition, or fails to arrive according to projected tracking information, notify us immediately. We will place a claim with the carrier and send you a new product(s) once we receive compensation from the carrier.

Exclusions

A restocking fee of 15% will be charged for all items removed from blister packaging. This includes, but is not limited to, batteries and memory cards.

A restocking fee of 15% will also be charged for any optics item purchased for comparison purposes. This means if you buy two or more spotting scopes, pair of binoculars, etc., and return any, we will assume that you bought them for comparison purposes, and will charge a 15% restocking fee for each item returned.

There are no refunds on gift certificates.
