XD Lenses and KR Coating
Kowa's Prominar XD lenses, consisting of eXtra-low Dispersion glass comparable to their fluorite crystal, reduce an extremely high amount of chromatic aberration, resulting in very sharp images with vivid colors and minimal blur. KR coating prevents the lenses from collecting dirty residues that adversely affect image quality, making them easy to keep clean.
Schmidt-Pechan Prism and Coatings
Kowa Genesis binoculars feature a Schmidt-Pechan prism that is treated with Kowa's highly reflective C3 coating to maximize light transmission. An inherent property of the Schmidt-Pechan prism is the Pechan prism's inability to give total reflection. The C3 coating is applied to the Pechan prism to compensate, resulting in a 99% or higher reflectance. The Schmidt prism roof surface also has a phase coating that creates fantastic sharpness and contrast.
Magnesium Alloy Body
The magnesium alloy body, made with advanced thixomolding technology, lightens the load for users without sacrificing durability, allowing them to be confident that their optics are safe and secure.
Waterproof Structure Filled with Dry Nitrogen Gas
The Genesis 22 binoculars are made with a waterproof housing and purged with nitrogen gas to prevent fogging. Combined with the durability of the body, this ensures that the binoculars will perform superbly even in the harshest environmental conditions.
