The Carson Optical VX Series 8x42 Binocular have some unusual features for a binocular at this price level. Chief among them are prisms with dielectric and phase correction coatings for maximum light transmission through that part of the light path. Its lenses are fully multi-coated as well. The VX series binoculars have a polycarbonate body, so they are both strong and light, with the VX 8x42 weighing only 23 ounces. They carry a JIS Class 6 / IPX6 waterproof rating and are O-ring sealed and nitrogen purged.
