The Vortex Crossfire® HD 16-48x65 Spotting Scope Angled fits in between the Crossfire HD 80mm and 50mm scopes. Its smaller objective size gives it reduced weight (44.1oz) and a wider field of view (131' at 1000 yards), but about 1/3 less light captured by the objective lens and a bit less resolution. Crossfire HD spotters use the Vortex HD Optical System which includes fully multi-coated lenses. Close focus in 16.5' and eye relief is 18mm. The body is rubber armored, waterproof, and nitrogen purged. Unlike the 50mm models, the 65mm and 80mm models have a rotating mount collar which allows moving the eyepiece to accommodate viewers of different heights or if you want to scope in a sitting or prone position. Crossfire spotters have multiple mounting options with a 1/4-20 screw mount hole in an Arca Swiss foot, so you can ignore a mount plate if you have an Arca Swiss compatible tripod head.
