Vortex Diamondback HD 20-60x85 Straight Spotting Scopes are demonstrably superior to the previous non-HD model. The optics have been enhanced by the addition of the Vortex HD Optical System that improves light transmission and reduces chromatic aberration, yielding sharper images with truer color. Increasing the old 80mm objective size to 85mm also increases the amount of light that makes it to your eye. The ergonomics have also been upgraded: the focus knob is gone, replaced by a helical ring around the scope's body, reducing the likelihood of snagging when you move it in or out of a day pack. The Diamondback HD is constructed of an aluminum chassis that is O-ring sealed and argon purged to be waterproof and fogproof. It is covered by the Vortex VIP Warranty.
Vortex offers VIP warranty which stands for a Very Important Promise to you, our customer. Optics are meant to be used outside - often times in the harshest environments imaginable. Couple that fact with "life" happening, and there's a lot that can impact your prized optical instruments. One thing is certain - from cliff drops to camp destroying brown bears and house fires to hurricanes, Vortex will repair or replace your product in the event it becomes damaged or defectiveat no charge to you. If Vortex cannot repair your product, they will replace it with a product in perfect working order of equal or better physical condition. The VIP warranty does not cover loss, theft or deliberate damage to the product.
